Security Repository For a large asset manager, Venture developed a Security
Repository on an Oracle / Unix platform for single point of Security Master
maintenance. Venture built Oracle procedures, packages, and triggers to
provide application logic, process vendor updates to the Security Master,
and enforce Security Master data referential integrity. The design provided
for the queuing of inbound front-office requests for new Security Master
setups as well as outbound queues for servicing requests for Security
Master information by other applications. Central Trade Manager Venture was asked to define business requirements and
initial architecture models, in particular, pre-settlement confirm/affirm
functionality, for a Straight Through Processing service provider. Venture
developed business use cases for establishing required STP business workflows
and participated in the subsequent QA review/approval process. Venture
was responsible for developing the functional design using UML tools which
included Rational Rose and Ensemble Streams for workflow modeling with
active links to use cases. In addition, Venture developed the functional
design architecture for a transaction-processing engine providing a central
match facility for automated trade allocation and confirmations. SWAP Processing Venture was commissioned to define the system architecture
requirements to enable a large fund accounting system to process Total
Rate of Return SWAPS. The enhancement extended across security reference
data, required the creation of new transaction types, and modifications
to accruals, general ledger processing, and reporting.
